Amsterdam, Holland (September 9, 2026)—Shure is updating its professional audio monitoring and listening software with today’s release of Wavetool 4.

Intended for theater, live sound, broadcast and houses of worship audio teams, Wavetool 4 allows users to monitor, replay and verify live audio across an audio system in real time. Along with its direct listening, instant replay and team collaboration tools, Wavetool 4 offers a number of new features, including full-system Global Instant Replay with up to 30 minutes of history; expanded channel capacity; a customizable user interface, and more.

Wavetool 4 allows engineers to listen directly to live audio channels while maintaining visibility across wired and wireless sources. The platform brings audio, replay, alerts, and communication into a single shared environment, turning monitoring into a common reference point for the entire production team.

The new update provides support for up to 192 channels and eight concurrent users, providing larger acts the scale to monitor more sources while keeping teams connected; hand in hand with that, the software accommodates productions of any size with a fully scalable interface that lets engineers zoom, resize, and prioritize channels as needed. A redesigned communication experience with chat, image sharing, reactions and voice notes built directly into the monitoring workflow.

The newly added Global Instant Replay rewinds the entire system with up to 30 minutes of history, allowing teams to review intermittent issues and confirm exactly what happened. Elsewhere, intelligent mic issue detection identifies problems the moment they occur while filtering out expected production sounds, reducing false alarms and minimizing unnecessary alerts.

Access to Wavetool is handled through subscription licensing managed via ShureCloud; various licensing options, including subscription and perpetual licenses, are available to support touring, project-based, and permanent installations.

Wavetool 4 is available today. A 30-day free trial is available to allow users to evaluate the software in real-world workflows before committing to a license.
