Hollywood, CA (September 29, 2026)—Last Friday saw PMC Speakers take over Capitol Studios in Los Angeles for an event to mark the company’s 35th anniversary. The facility, located at the base of the famed Capitol Records Tower, has undergone a sizable renovation in recent years—an effort that included the installation more than 50 PMC Speakers throughout the Tower and the half-dozen studios at its base.
The event included live performances from Melody Gardot, Grammy-nominated vocalist and pianist Sheléa and percussionist Kevin Ricard, and was attended by engineeres, producers, UMG executives and more.

“I can’t think of a more fitting venue in which to celebrate our 35 years,” said Peter Thomas, co-founder and chairman of PMC. “It is surely the most recognizable studio building in the world and now, having been fitted out with our new monitors, where better to share this anniversary with our customers, friends and the biggest names from the music industry.”
On the ground floor of the tower, Studio A, the largest of the spaces, with room for a 50-strong orchestra, has been fitted out with the new PMC10-4 main monitors and custom subwoofers. Nearfield monitoring in Studio A is provided by the PMC6 compact monitors. An identical installation can be found in Studio B.
For stereo and immersive audio mixing, Studio C is equipped with the PMC15 XBD for the left and right channels and PMC15 for the center. The PMC15 XBD builds on the legacy of the original BB5 XBD – the speakers that launched PMC into the world of professional audio and music making back in 1991. A mixture of Ci140s and Ci65s make up the surrounds and height channels, and two BST subwoofers supply the lower frequency information.

Two further stereo production/recording and mixing studios, D and E, have both been supplied with the PMC8-2 XBD system, with two additional PMC8-2 SUB subwoofers employed. Moving up to the first floor, Studio F, a Dolby Atmos mixing and QC suite, has twotwo.8 monitors for the left, center and right channels and Wafer1s for surround and height use.
Also located throughout the Capitol Studios facility, in various offices and boardrooms, are a selection of the PMC hi-fi speakers for playback, including prophecy models, and numerous Ci on-wall speakers.
