Backnang, Germany (September 22, 2026)—d&b audiotechnik has added a new feature to its ArrayCalc software for system design, prediction and optimization: System Auralization, which lets users actually listen to a loudspeaker system design in advance.
Traditionally, sound system prediction software such has used data to help engineers visualize plots, maps and a statistical sense of how a system will work in situ. D&b expects System Auralization to provide an additional way to assess a system design before it gets built.

System Auralization generates a real-time binaural rendering of the current system configuration. Users can move freely through a virtual venue in first-person mode, listening from different audience positions and exploring how design decisions influence the listening experience across the coverage area. The aim is to provide insight into how design choices may impact coverage, imaging, and tonal balance across the audience area.
Users can load audio material and listen to the simulated result of their system design in real time. Changes to system parameters are reflected immediately. Combined with ArrayCalc’s new snapshot recall functionality, users can compare different system configurations without interrupting audio playback.
