Napa, CA (August 12, 2026)—Located in downtown Napa, the newly opened Napa Music Hall is welcoming music fans with a variety of music and an inviting mix of the old and new. The venue was first built in 1879 as an opera house, but in its new incarnation, the Music Hall will be presenting the likes of Pablo Cruise, Railroad Earth, Texas Headhunters, Geoff Tate, Steel Pulse, Black Flag and more.
Spearheading the venue’s latest revival is wine and hospitality entrepreneur John Anthony Truchard, founder and CEO of John Anthony Wine & Spirits. After spending a decade as a presenting sponsor for the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival, Truchard saw a unique opportunity for his hometown.
“BottleRock puts Napa on the map for music for three days a year with consumers,” said Truchard. “Our goal with Napa Music Hall is putting Napa on the map for music another 362 days a year. We want to be an unmissable stop for artists that are touring through this route, making Napa Music Hall the perfect intimate add-on for their VIPs, most loyal listeners, and fans.”

The site operates as two venues—the 650-capacity standing-room Ballroom upstairs, and the intimate 160-seat Club downstairs. To bring them up to modern-day expectations, Turchard turned Commercial Audio Video Solutions (CAVS) for updating the house audio system, which centers around a d&b audiotechnik P.A., featuring CL-Series compact cardioid line arrays, KSL-GSUB subwoofers, and U-Series point source loudspeakers.
Truchard prioritized a highly rider-friendly system that would attract premium talent. After extensive modeling and listening tests, he chose d&b audiotechnik. “It operates exactly as advertised,” Truchard noted. “d&b presented a solution, and then they delivered perfectly on that.”
The upstairs Ballroom utilizes CL-Series CCL8 and CCL12 compact cardioid line arrays with d&b’s advanced ArrayProcessing technology, complemented by KSL-GSUB subwoofers beneath the stage and a combination of U5 and 8S point source speakers in various fill locations.

Meanwhile, the Club utilizes models from the xS series including 12S, 10S and 8S point source loudspeakers, complemented by a cardioid subwoofer array comprised of three Bi6-SUBs.
Don Lynch of CAVS specified the d&b audiotechnik CCL-Series for the main Ballroom. “Their size-to-weight ratio was perfect to maintain the venue’s sightlines, while getting a lot more out of the PA without requiring huge structural upgrades,” he noted. “Ultimately, one of our main objectives was to give everybody in the venue the exact same experience, regardless of whether they were in the balcony or right up close to the stage.”
